Being an extreme early riser, I began Day 3 with a walk along a beach under the full moon. It was peaceful and captivating.
Then I returned to my hotel, packed up, had a bite to eat, and got to the airport. The day involved flying from one island to another, renting a car, and driving to the far end of…

This morning as the roosters on the beach outside my hotel woke me with incessant “cock-a-doodle-doos,” I rose with a smile. I dressed and took a long walk (barefooted) on the beach. While today, this week, and this month I am still…

Yesterday, I received an email from someone who visited my website’s page about Chippewa Firefighter Boots and posts on this blog about them who informed me, sadly, that…

This time of year in the United States, we are bombarded with offers of sales on everything imaginable, including boots. Breathless boot ads with offers of 10%, 20%, 25%, or even more fill my email in-box. I often receive multiple emails from the same vendor during this four-day period.

As we have done every year for the past 21 years, Spouse and I are hosting our annual “No Senior is Alone Thanksgiving Feastival.” This is the only time each year that we host guests. Otherwise, except for my family, we do not entertain visitors.
Posts linked below describe what this event is, so I will not repeat. What I wanted to do in this post is to express my own grateful feelings for…

As some people, including me, have said over time — it takes guts to wear certain articles of clothing out in public, especially if others are not accustomed to seeing you wearing such items such as boots and/or leather garments (besides a leather jacket.)
I cannot tell you how many people have written to me or searched this blog about “men wearing boots to the office / church / in general.” Same goes for wearing leather pants or jeans, which I wrote about in my last blog post.
The general gist of these questions have been concerns about…

Continuing for a bit about wearing leather garments, I said in my previous post,
Some people have said that wearing leather pants gives signals about one’s sexual orientation. I will blog more about that issue in a future post.
This is that “future” blog post.
More after the jump…
