Getting Back On The Saddle

As an avid motorcyclist — or shall I say: as a biker who has ridden motorcycles for the better part of 40 years — I continue to seek ways to balance my fondness for the freedom of two-wheeled adventures while dealing with the issues of being a “mature older man”: caregiving for the Spouse requires an enormous amount of time and attention; working more than full-time in a management position while serving as the Acting Boss; and the aches, pains, and infirmities of age.

Admiring Higher Level Motorcycle Skill

Many of my loyal readers know that I am friends with motorcycle cops who work in the area where I live. I have known one of them since we went to high school together (JB), and through him, have met, trained with, and ridden motorcycles together (a little) over decades.

The mantra of the political left in the USA for the past 18 months has been “r-e-s-i-s-t”, meaning

a resistance movement is simply that; it seeks to resist (change) the policies of a government or occupying power. This may be accomplished through violent or non-violent means.
