I haven’t much to say. Not much is going on. At work…
…things are quiet. The unit staff are great and doing well. That sure makes my job easier while I am temporarily in charge of our unit, working with staff in six states and three U.S. territories (only two others in my office; all others elsewhere.)
At home, I am still averaging two medical visits with the spouse each week. He is trying hard not to complain, though I can tell, he is really not well. We continue to pursue getting help, though sometimes that is extremely difficult.
Despite having excellent health insurance, and our area rated as among the best in health care access in the United States, the statistical claims do not nearly meet reality. For example, I wasted four hours trying to get an appointment with one specialty physician. The availability of the good ones is as much as four to six months out. Spouse can’t wait that long. (He continues to cry, much to my heartbreak, “no one cares! I am SICK!”)
Today the weather is exceptionally awful, with air temperatures peaking at 98F (37C). I cannot ride my Harley in that heat. I am staying home in the air conditioning.
I am still taking LOLITS grocery shopping, but we go very early in the day before it gets so blasted hot.
I am trying to keep busy, but most of my “busy stuff to do” in my community also takes a summer break.
I tried once again to install the SSL certificates on this website and blog, but once again, another wasted three hours. Can’t get them to work. I can install them, but the website and blog stop showing images and nothing I do to try to fix it works. I am giving up and will chalk up the cost of buying those SSL certificates to another waste of money for something beyond my capability.
Meanwhile, I have renewed my passion for reading. I have read ten novels in the past two weeks. Much better than watching silly television or wasting time on Politicalbook.
Oh well, happy July!
Life is short: keep busy whilst keeping an eye on the one you love.
