Riding

Riding03Some readers have asked me to show what it looks like from the view of a biker during a group ride. We all wear proper protective gear, including a DOT-approved helmet and motorcycle boots. I enjoy riding with safety-minded riders.

Here are some photos that a friend took while we were riding this past Sunday. Early Spring in Maryland’s rural farm country makes for pleasurable and relaxing views along the highway as we glide along peacefully…. More photos below. Continue reading

Off Riding

Sorry, not much time to blog today… it is stunningly sunny and warming up!

Checked my bike out thoroughly to prepare it for this year’s riding season. Had to have my friendly dealership service folks correct the tire pressure yesterday. All else was fine.

Time to R-I-D-E!

Sweet Early Spring Tease

This happens every year… we get a few nice days in a row with sunny, warm weather, then it gets cold for a few more weeks until Spring happens for real. However, yesterday it was sunny and reached 61F (16C). So what’s a biker to do?

Winter Ride!

PrerideSaturday, January 12, the weather where I live is usually frosty cold — not conducive to riding a motorcycle. But today we had a break. Predicted for more than a week, the air temperatures climbed close to 60F (15.5C). So what better way for a biker dude like me to enjoy it? RIDE!

Winter Ride Through a Lightshow!

A generous benefactor paid entry for my motorcycle club (and some other clubs, too) to ride through a light show set up in a state park in the northern part of the county where I live. It was a great display, and nice ride.

And, regretfully, some of the other motorcyclists on this ride do not know how to ride in a group. Overall, though, I’m happy — not that often I can say that I took a motorcycle ride in December!

Life is short: ride!

Unexpected Ride!

I had thought that it would have taken all day on Friday to clean up after our Thanksgiving event, but my family and a few senior pals did such a good job, all I had to do was take 14 garbage bags to the transfer station (what we call “the dump”), and that was it.

The forecast for Friday was 60°F (15.5°C), while the ongoing forecast was for the bottom to drop out of the thermometer in the evening.

I gave “one of those looks” to my fiance, and he said, “go get your leathers on and go for a ride!”

Weekend: Leather Up and Ride!

My fiance and I had a great weekend! Busy with chores around the house on Saturday, and also taking five of my senior pals to get groceries, we accomplished our chores by early afternoon. Then my fiance said, “it’s nice out, why don’t you go for a ride on your Harley? The weather won’t be suitable for riding soon, so ride when you can!”
