Sweet Early Spring Tease

This happens every year… we get a few nice days in a row with sunny, warm weather, then it gets cold for a few more weeks until Spring happens for real. However, yesterday it was sunny and reached 61F (16C). So what’s a biker to do?

Well, silly, if you have to ask…, yesterday I…

Pulled my fiance’s car and my truck out of the garage, then unplugged the battery tender from my Harley and rolled it out to the middle of the garage. I did a very thorough exam of all of the bike’s parts–chassis, cables, brakes, lights, signals, controls, and tire pressure. The bike is in fine mechanical condition, but as expected, both tires were a little low, so I filled them (though it’s a pain in the ass to do that on my touring class Harley without a lift.)

Then I got out of my soft grubbies and donned a short-sleeved leather shirt…
Side-laced leather jeans…
Chippewa Firefighter boots…
and Langlitz jacket…

…and took a nice ride on some backroads byways of my lovely home state, and ran a bunch of errands while I was at it. Stopped at a bank, post office, grocery store, and got what’s left of my hair cut. Anyone say anything about the biker leathers? Not in any of the stores, but my friend who has cut my hair for 25 years said, “those are really nice leather pants.” And that was it. Get over it — wearing full leather in public is no.big.deal.

During the ride, I was on the lookout for a plague of locusts that a biker buddy has threatened to beset upon me because he is buried under 20 meters of snow where he lives up in the Great White North and his Harley remains in storage.SpringsprungblogSorry, S, leather weather is not seasonable for locusts. LOL!

Life is short: RIDE!

  1. Dude, you look good in that photo. I think you ought to have gotten a lot more compliments than just from the barber.
