My Caregiving Earworm

An “earworm” is a song that repeats in your head over and over. Lately, my earworm is related to what I am doing for… and caring for… my Spouse.

A country singer, Billy Dean, wrote and sang a song in 1993 titled, “I Want To Take Care of You.” His album cover — “Its What I Do” — speaks perfectly to me and what I am doing as a caregiver.

I listened to “I Want To Take Care of You” the other day as I was driving home (on a self-recorded CD in my truck) and sang these words from my heart, thinking of my spouse:

Sheplers Is At It Again

For a long period during 2017, it seems like the western wear store Sheplers dropped out of sight. I say that because I stopped receiving almost daily emails claiming “best boot prices of the year” (almost every day) and “20% off entire site!” and “25% off entire site!” and “You’re a VIP… click here for your gift” … then the “gift” was “20% off!”

Christmas Surprises

Things are going “as expected” here at the mother-in-law’s dark and dreary house. When we awoke on Christmas morning, we were presented with a peaceful blanket of fresh fallen snow. This was not a surprise since the forecast five days ago was spot-on, but it was a delight to see.

After preparing breakfast for The Spouse and his Mom, I pulled on my warm, insulated, waterproof Chippewa Loggers and dispatched the snow from the walks in just a few minutes.
