I am without words (allowable to say in public, anyway.) When I saw this image:
I thought…

Congratulatory Marriage Note in Newsletter
I am a member of several organizations and clubs in the community where I live. All of these organizations are related to activities that I enjoy — civic work, motorcycling, rehabbing old houses, and my ol’ college fraternity alumni association. All of these organizations are composed of straight people/couples. At least I am not aware of any gay members of any of these organizations. I’m sure there must be other members who are gay, but I haven’t asked and they haven’t told.
I do not belong to any clubs that are related to gay issues. No “MC” or LGBT groups.
So it was a pleasant surprise to me when the July issue of a newsletter for one of these organizations had the following shout-out to me and my spouse:

Comparison: White’s Nomad Vs. Wesco Boss Boots
I have several pairs of Wesco Boss boots and now two pairs of White’s Nomad boots. These boots are engineer boots in style, appearance, and function.
Someone looked up “Whites Nomad vs. Wesco Boots” and got directed to this blog, but to a post that did not provide my opinions on how the boots compare. Here is what I think about each of these tough motorcycle boots:

My Romantic Spouse
When I arrived home from work yesterday, I was tired and dragging ass. I enjoy commuting on my Harley, but when it is very hot and humid, it takes its toll, especially after a hard day at the office. I was looking forward to having dinner at home, then curling up on the sofa next to my spouse … and probably nodding off.
Well… that didn’t quite happen.

Take Me Out To The Ball Game
Regular readers of this blog know that I do not follow sports of any sort, and generally am clueless about sports. However, of all sports, baseball is something that I don’t mind watching under the right circumstances.
On Sunday, my spouse and I went to watch our local major league baseball team in action at the stadium in Washington, DC.
How did that happen?

Working on a Holiday Weekend
I took off work on Friday, July 5, yet I worked. I worked again all day yesterday. What’s this work about?

Why Did You Marry Your Partner?
With all the media attention on same-sex marriage, a number of visits to this blog have come in, primarily driven by internet search engines. A writer for a major U.S. Metropolitan newspaper contacted me and asked directly, “why did you marry your partner?”
I thought it was obvious, but in reading some of my past posts, I realize that I may have given a different signal.
Why did I marry my partner? I have many reasons, as follows–

Independence Day: Let’s Celebrate!
Today marks my country’s 237 year since declaring its independence from Great Britain. We still love the Brits, though I wish they would learn to spell words without superfluous vowels. (giggle.)
This morning, I will celebrate what makes America great by attending a citizenship swearing-in ceremony in my state’s capital. For the past four months, I have tutored three hard-working people on United States civics, history, and government to prepare them to take the Citizenship test, the last step in the process of becoming a citizen of the United States.
How does that make me feel?

Collector-Wearer and Collector-Displayer
Someone contacted me recently to invite me to participate in a formal auction of celebrity memorabilia, including some cowboy boots worn by some stars (I’ve never heard of) who have appeared in movies. He found me by using an internet search engine and looking for results on “vintage cowboy boot collector.”
Imagine that? Search engines point to my website when searching for that phrase.
I also searched that phrase, and reaffirmed my personal thoughts that there are two types of boot collectors.

Riding Between Raindrops
I did manage to lead a motorcycle ride yesterday. The skies at times looked like it was going to pour, then the sun came out, then it misted a bit, then got sunny. Turned out to be a regular steam bath. But we had a great ride!
Photos below were taken by a buddy on the ride. If you can’t tell, I’m the one way up front…
BTW, two guys on the ride were talking about the recent decisions by the U.S. Supreme Court on gay issues. Then they turned to me and said,
