Personal Contributions (How I Resist)

Warning… rare political rant…

The mantra of the political left in the USA for the past 18 months has been “r-e-s-i-s-t”, meaning

a resistance movement is simply that; it seeks to resist (change) the policies of a government or occupying power. This may be accomplished through violent or non-violent means.

Now, before you go casting me as a “snowflake” or a pejorative label, “liberal,” consider that I am a firm believer in the founding father’s fundamental principles of what the USA is all about: a representative democracy. I am a patriot. But being so does not mean that…

Sad Lesson About the State of Affairs

I love my country, the United States of America. However, I am increasingly appalled at the divisive attitudes espoused and encouraged by The Great Orange One, otherwise referred to on this blog as the DIC*.

Rather than hold up a sign and exhaust myself “marching” in the streets of our capital city, where these marches happen almost weekly with no results, I take direct and contributive action.

Summer Vacation Plans

However, I draw the line at…

25 Years Later

When I arrived home from work on April 25, the Spouse greeted me with a “happy anniversary!”

I had a very busy and distracted day, and had a lapse of memory. Wow… we met 25 years ago on April 25, 1993. Who woulda thunk that we would build a life of love and commitment as it has turned out to be. (Here is a post on this blog about the day we met.)

We hugged, and sat down to reminisce a bit.

Fast-forward to the present day, when…

25th Senior Safety Saturday

Blogging took a back seat to life… lots of life-activities going on around the ol’ BHD homestead this weekend. A large part of it was a major event that earned me my Life Membership in my local fire department.

This past Saturday marked the 25th time that about 40 friends and I executed our “Senior Safety Saturday” event. This is when we…

Boots for Easter and Leg Problems

Happy Easter, loyal blog readers! Today is a great day to visit family, most of whom will be in their “Sunday best.” I guess I’ll join ’em by wearing my “Sunday leathers and boots.” More on that in a bit.

Some of you may have noticed that I have not posted much about wearing boots lately. I have to admit something having to do with a rather persistent personal medical situation…
