Slow & Wet Start to Unofficial Summer

The U.S. Memorial Day weekend is the unofficial start to the summer season. Swimming pools open and there is much frivolity and celebrations for picnics and outdoor activities.

After a frightening health scare on Friday for The Spouse which changed our plans for the weekend, I spent…

…most of my weekend caring for my Spouse, nursing him back to stable, but not great, health.

Part of the recovery plan included getting out for some exercise and fresh air, so we visited a local gem — a beautiful county park close to where we live. We walked about two miles around the perimeter of the park, stopping occasionally so The Spouse could recover a bit to press on.

The nicest part of this park, in my opinion, is the rose garden — here are two thorns among the roses:Otherwise, we did some household chores and mowed the lawn. I took lovely LOLITS grocery shopping, visited some family briefly, and planned a motorcycle ride on Monday.

Unfortunately, Monday morning greeted us with rain, so the ride didn’t happen. Spouse and I watched a movie instead. After lunch, however, it had stopped raining and dried up, so I went out for a two-hour ride with a buddy. It was great to get out and begin the very slow process of regaining degraded motorcycle operation skills. Man, I am rusty!

Oh well, while this year will not be like last year, at least we will have warmer weather sometime soon.

Life is short: enjoy what you have and celebrate each other.
