Birthday Man

Today is my spouse’s birthday. I used a holiday yesterday to do special things for him, and also ride escort in a parade. The weather yesterday around where I live reached 70F (21C)! Wow!

Since 11 November has always been a holiday, my spouse has preferred to celebrate his birthday on that date, instead of the real date, which is today.

Gestures of Affection

HandsI write often about how much I love my spouse, and he loves me. Love is deep, faithful, and always there.

I was reading another man’s blog the other day where he described gestures that he and his wife did for each other that demonstrated their ongoing love for one another, even after being together for 20 years.

Love never asks for expensive gifts. You may have heard that before, but it’s something you must never forget. Small everyday gestures multiply the depth and breadth of affection.

So I took stock of what my spouse and I do, and smiled when I discovered that our routine includes many of these same gestures of affection each and every day.

Cowboy Boots with Suits

TLPecan19I work in a professional office. I seldom wear a suit or even a jacket, but there are occasions that I do. While I work in a professional office, the traditional business suit is not customarily worn any more, even by the big cheese to whom I report. However, I usually wear a shirt and tie, and keep a jacket handy (hanging on the back of my door) for times when custom demands.

And I always wear boots. No exception. Even with a suit or less formal attire — jacket and tie.
