While surfing the ‘net a few months ago, I found the website for Ranch Road Boots. This was a new brand of boots to me. (Please do not confuse Ranch Road Boots with cheap Chinese-made “Red Ranch” knock-offs made for Boot Barn holdings and sold by Sheplers.)
Soon after discovering the website, I received an email from Sarah Ford, the owner of Ranch Road Boots, who introduced her product line to me through a very cordial and friendly email exchange.

Short post, but I thought I would share a funny.
This post is written for a long-time follower of this blog who wrote to me recently to ask about my perspective of being a man who wears boots exclusively, even during the summer when it is quite warm, and being surrounded by flip-flop wearing yuppies who know no better…

There is some controversy about what defines generations, including those generally lumped into the class of “millennials” who were born roughly between the years of 1981 to 1997, more-or-less. I generally disavow lumping anyone into any category because I myself don’t fit stereotypical lumps. But that’s another story.

I am really slammed at work. The boss remains out and I’m doing his job and my own, supervising and herding cats, attending meetings and giving briefings on the Hill, etc., etc. Even an Act of Congress that affects me directly got passed (quite surprisingly). I can’t really say more about why this month has been so busy, but trust me, it has!

Ah, I lead such a grand and glorious social life. For example, Friday evening, I dressed in my leather best (leather shirt, shiny black leather pants, and shined black
