A good friend of mine recently asked me, “Do you have a very very favorite pair of boots (cowboy or otherwise)? Like, the “bury me in these” boots?”

He said that it would be really hard for him to make a choice, and the same is true for me. I can’t say that I have one particular pair of boots that are my absolutely favorites, but here are some of my top choices.

Cowboy Boots with Suits

TLPecan19I work in a professional office. I seldom wear a suit or even a jacket, but there are occasions that I do. While I work in a professional office, the traditional business suit is not customarily worn any more, even by the big cheese to whom I report. However, I usually wear a shirt and tie, and keep a jacket handy (hanging on the back of my door) for times when custom demands.

And I always wear boots. No exception. Even with a suit or less formal attire — jacket and tie.

Removing Boots with a Boot Jack

Bootjack01Sometimes the most fundamental boot-related things are such a part of my daily life that I forget that others are still learning. A loyal reader of this blog wrote to me to suggest that I explain what a boot jack is, and how it is used by guys who regularly wear “pull-on” boots.

I am sure you have seen “boot pulls” which are simple loops of leather found on many pull-on boots. Simply point your foot into the boot and grab the boot pulls and pull on your boots.
