International Take Your Boss To Lunch On A Motorcycle Day

bossride2Yep, I couldn’t miss International Take Your Boss To Lunch On A Motorcycle Day on Thursday, 6 October. Proof here…

tyboamtwd2016See the boss is booted too? And not afraid to ride two-up with another guy on a motorcycle? We enjoyed a nice ride, great lunch, and each other’s friendship.

I am wearing my new SuperSEER Helmet that I bought to replace the helmet that saved me from significant injuries during my crash on May 31. My boots were Chippewa harness boots that I bought to replace the boots that sustained crash-damage also. I am wearing strong, thick abrasion-resistant jeans with built-in Kevlar protection on the thighs, hips, and knees (called “Sliders”) and my Rev’IT ballistic nylon jacket with gauntlet gloves. UV- and glare-reducing photochromic eyewear as well.

Now we’ve got work to do, but once a year, we enjoy a well-deserved break.

Life is short: appreciate your boss!

  1. Is there some stigma attached to two guys riding ‘two-up’ on a motorcycle? Really? Since when?

  2. Thanks for the link. I’m still somewhat amazed at how a little insecurity can go a long way.

  3. Great post BHD. I know you are a strong ATGATT advocate. Thoughts on your passenger’s attire?

    • I insisted on boots over his usual dorky loafers; I insisted on jeans instead of dress slacks. At least he wore that gear.

I offered him a jacket and gloves and he declined. At least he wore the full-face helmet I loaned him (he had no other choice.) He was not full ATGATT attired, but much better than most other riders who wear sneakers (or worse: flip-flops), jeans (or worse: shorts), and t-shirts (or worse, no shirt).
