I mentioned in a previous post that I like tall engineer boots made of brown leather, and that I had a pair of these boots headed my way.
Well, the boots arrived. Presenting Runnerbull’s “Biker – Road” engineer boots–

These boots are 18 inches (47cm) tall, but what is most distinctive is that these boots are made of fine Italian leather. The leather is soft yet durable, and is naturally shiny. Several comments to a post that I made about these boots elsewhere on this-here interweb machine said, “classy.” And that is how I will define these boots — they definitely make a classy, elegant, appearance.
Are bikers interested in elegant boots? Perhaps some hard-core bikers only want scuffed-up scuzzy boots, and I don’t mind that appearance either (sometimes), but there are times when boots that look good are preferred. Especially for a guy like me who rides his Harley to park close to where he works in a professional office. The boots perform well on the Harley, but also look good with khakis or brown slacks. And as you can see from the photo, these boots also look great with leather jeans tucked into them. That’s what we call “versatile!”
This is a new line of boots being made by a small business entrepreneur in Italy. He and I have corresponded many times about his boots and service model. He wants to appeal to a broader market than bikers. Not that the biker market is so bad, but there is a noticeable lack of fine quality boots for guys in styles other than traditional cowboy boots. Now, the gap has been filled. Runnerbull boots fill it well.
Runnerbull boots are affordable, especially considering the excellent source of leather (Italian leather is among the best in the world), as well as craftsmanship. We also must realize that we are in a global economy, and not all products are made in our home country — nor should they be. I’m fine with quality products made in other countries such as Italy. Where you have heard me rant sometimes is when U.S.-based companies outsource production to China and reap huge profits without consideration of quality. This is not the case with Runnerbull boots. It is an Italian-based company with Italian craftsmanship and quality. All good. (Really, all excellent!)
One thing to note if you are interested in these boots is that the soles run larger than marked. If you order, it is best to measure your foot length and width in centimeters and provide those measurements with your order. The company owner wants to make customers happy, so he will ensure you get boots that will fit you if he knows your specific measurements.

Life is short: appreciate fine Italian quality.
