No Riding Today!

The bottom dropped out of the thermometer, literally. This morning, it was 9F (-13C). The winds were howling. I broke out my rugged Chippewa Logger Boots, bought specifically for this purpose. We got buried under…

Two inches (5cm) of snow! Oh my goodness! Oh, the humanity! How will we ever survive?
BraveprintsLocal public and private schools are closed.

But my rugged boots, plus longjohns under my jeans and a thick wool sweater, plus a winter parka, will keep me warm as I commute to work today. Yep, I’m not going to let the severe cold and all that snow deter me!

Check back in a day or two to see how I survived.

Life is short: it’s hard to type when you are biting your tongue, trying not to laugh. (The Washington DC area is composed of a bunch of weather wimps!)

  1. Happy New Year to you and your hubby, BHD!

I hope all is going well and in particular that BikerBeef’s disease is in remission. Last year’s news sucked (especially news of his relapse) so my New Year’s wish for you both is that this year will be one of his overcoming totally that relapse.

It’s good to hear you’re getting through this snowfest. I was sorta hoping you’d show photos of you riding an AMF/Harley snowmobile (if you own one) and the boots you’d be wearing while riding it, but alas, no such luck. Last night during the midst of the snowfall, I think I did hear snowmobiles outside on the streets. In any event, you’re undoubtedly warming the hearts of the ‘snow chickens’ who are quaking in their boots at the thought of a little snow falling outside. The wind chill around here is what’s really worrying and I will follow your lead by bundling up before heading outside later. Our wind chill has the effective temperature of being approximately 0°(F)/-17(C).

Take care, stay warm. May this new year be healthful, joyous and prosperous for you, your loved ones and your readers. Best to you, always.
