Man, the weather in my neck of the woods has been weird… three heat waves (defined as at least three days or longer of temperatures in the mid-90s [35C] with dewpoints in the 70s [24C]) … right during the time when The Spouse and I were moving tons (literally) of rocks to build a backyard waterfall, pond, and patio.
But come this past Sunday, a cool breeze heralded an oncoming cold front, lowering air temperatures to the 70s (24C) and dewpoints a refreshing 53F (12C), making it feel dry and cool. Certainly not the “dog days of summer!”
Time to LEATHER UP!…
… while I ride my Harley to work on Monday. Yep, I have a major meeting for the first few days this week being held on the campus of my workplace that I have to attend. Dress up… shirt and leather tie. Yep, you heard me… leather tie. Adds a bright bit of color and looks good with my blue shirt, black dress slacks, and 12″ shined-up black dress ropers (that have a moderate rubber sole, suitable for handling the Harley.)
For the trip on the Harley in the cool morning air (temps in the mid-50s on August 5!), I wore my black leather motorcycle chaps and a lightweight leather jacket. Protects the clothes and keeps me suitably warm without roasting.
There are a few times when I wish I had a cell phone with the capability to take photos and transfer them to a way I can post them on this blog, but I do not. I refuse to pay the outrageous fees charged by my cell phone provider (or any cell phone provider) for a data plan that includes the capability to transfer images taken with a cell phone. So you will just have to imagine….
Cool air… dark (it IS quite dark now when I leave for work)… boots, chaps, leather jacket… Harley. Great ride to work!
Life is short: leather up!
