Accomplished what I set out this visit for here in Honolulu, Hawaii. These short 3 days saw Spouse and me…
Take some nice walks on a famous beach. Even though “they” say tourism is down, you wouldn’t know it by the crowds.
We also were treated to lunch by the Top Dog of a major center here who I worked with in my most recent professional life. We enjoyed it immensely.
We walked more and more… Honolulu is a great town to walk in. Good sidewalks and mostly flat (in the urban area.) But man, is this city loud! Traffic, sirens, and helmetless flip-flop wearing idiots on crotch rockets go-go-go 24/7.
I gave a speech, which is what first “brung” me here. The organization that asked me to speak paid a little toward airfare, housing, and meals. Another “retirement gift” from my former agency.
We also had dinner at a famous flagship restaurant with a good friend with whom I also worked during my work life.
Sat on our balcony and watched the world go by… busy busy place.
Friday, we set sail (via air) for another island for what Spouse labels our honeymoon. Check back for our next adventure!
Life is short: enjoy the Aloha spirit!
