Boots for Comfort

Admittedly, I am an unabashed fan of boots. I wear several pairs of boots each day, depending on what I am doing and where I am going. I wrote a while ago on a post titled Bikers: Where Are The Boots? that at a motorcycle rider’s group training conference, a large number of men were wearing sneakers because they said that sneakers were more comfortable than boots.

Poppycock.

I was pleased to receive a comment on that post recently that affirmed my assertion that boots are comfortable. That comment said,

I wear boots precisely BECAUSE I’m on my feet all day. I’m a county commissioner in a rural Colorado mountain county, so most days I wear western work boots most days because I may be jumping fences to check an irrigation ditch issue, climbing an embankment to see a road job, or hiking through the woods to view a volunteer trail project. On meeting or business days, I wear nice Tony Lamas – and on my Harley, I wear my Chippewa harness boots!

I couldn’t have said this any better myself.

So there…

Life is short: wear boots. ‘nuf said.

  1. I wear sneakers when I go running. And once I’m done I am screaming to get rid of the silly sneakers and put on my comfortable boots!!!!!
