You heard it here before, and I am repeating these words of advice — if you like new boots that are made in Mexico, including some Lucchese, Justin, Old Gringo, Laredo, Tony Lama, Nocona, and hand-made styles from old-world bootmakers in Leon — order those boots now.
Why? Because soon…
…the DIC* will force application of excessive tariffs on products made in Mexico and imported into the United States. The free access and no tariff on products (including boots) that was included in the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) will soon be gone. Mark my words. All products made in Mexico will be more expensive for U.S. buyers.
Just be forewarned… the DIC is taking actions to do exactly what I feared.
Life is short: don’t be a DIC.
