I enjoyed the longest (for me) ride of the season yesterday with my cousin. We rode through the Maryland countryside up to Southern Pennsylvania on a lovely day. The weather was perfect.
Our adventure included…
…covered bridges, which are fun to find (and thank goodness for my GPS, because I could not have found the bridges otherwise.) We got there over some interesting roads that probably were not on a map.
We also explored an exceptionally large civil war battlefield. The perspective of that battlefield by motorcycle is breathtaking.
What was I wearing: Frontline plain silvertan breeches and lug-soled Chippewa hi-shine engineer boots.
Life is short: ride with family for fun.
Glad you and your cousin were able to go riding together. From what you’ve chronicled over the last few weeks, you certainly deserve a ‘hog break’. Is that Civil War battlefield, Gettysburg?
Thank you, Bill. A break to ride all day with a great guy was needed. Yes, you spotted our second stop of our ride. I usually do not include the name of locations that I visit due to the way search engines operate.
Yeah, I know. Search engines are quite the double-edged sword these days, aren’t they? Still, it’s good you were able to go out and enjoy the day with someone you like and who is not only a fellow ‘biker’, but also a good family member. I hope you have a lot more rides like that.
When I read the previous entry — you, plotting the course — I flashed on something you said in earlier entries about being directionally challenged. My thoughts were, “Oh brother! His next entry is going to be very interesting!” So, I am glad it all worked out and the company, family, very important. You DO have fun. Ken
