Longest Ride of the Season

Posted: 6:00pm Sunday, September 15, 2013.

All week, I worked to clear my Sunday to be totally free of chores and other things I do to look after my senior pals. I did my visits, trips to the grocery stores, and worked on home maintenance all week, including all day yesterday.

Today (Sunday) I pulled on my biker leathers, tall boots, and gave myself a treat —

I went on the longest motorcycle ride of the season (for me) with a group of safe and sober riding friends. 184 miles of smiles on a stunningly gorgeous day through back roads and byways of Maryland, West Virginia, and Virginia. We had a great time!

The day began quite chilly, so my full leather biker breeches and Langlitz Columbia jacket kept me warm. As the day progressed, I shed the warm jacket for my perforated leather shirt, then just a vest.

Funny, one of my biker buds looked at me up and down, from my leathers to my lug-soled Chippewa boots, then said, “what are you trying to do — be a fashion statement?”

My reply, “I’m very comfortable.” That’s all I said. His reply, “oh, okay.” Glad it ended that way.
RideblogLife is short: RIDE!

PS: yes, faces of my friends are blurred on purpose. They may not want to be identifiable on a gay guy’s blog, even one as g-rated as this one.
