Oh, the weather outside is delightful, but any fire inside would be frightful, so since we’ve got lots of places to go, let it roll, let it roll, let it roll…
Sorry for the bad, very bad, reworking of the lyrics to a popular Christmas carol, but man oh man, it’s been incredibly and unseasonably warm these last few days!
Yesterday, I began the day with a warm snuggle with the spouse, then prepared breakfast for him, myself, and my brother and wife who are staying with us for a while. All was complete by 0800, and my brother and I took off for Arlington National Cemetery where we joined thousands of other volunteers to lay wreaths at the headstones of all who are buried there, and pay tribute to those who gave the ultimate sacrifice.
We got back home by 1100, and then I did double-time on the “honey-do list” with the spouse. Christmas tree is (almost) completely decorated. Groceries stocked up for several senior pals and at our house for the upcoming week while I will be away on travel again. Twin brother and wife are relaxed and happy, and visiting our many family around the area.
By 1400, chores were done. I was wearing lightweight leather jeans and Firefighter boots all day. I pulled on my mesh jacket over a t-shirt, light leather cop gloves, and continued the rest of the day’s errands aboard my iron horse. What a great day to ride, even though it was fundamentally weird to be riding my Harley past green lawns decorated with snowmen, reindeer, and Santa Claus displays.
Today, Sunday, more errands with the spouse, but locally. Then my brother wants to ride with me again to where? Who knows… just us dudes out enjoying another 70F day! His wife will go shopping with our sisters (they can have the malls… give us the back roads!) Spouse will finish decorating the tree.
Another busy weekend with a busy week ahead!
Life is short: RIDE! (Sorry, S., but you’d be out riding too if you were here!)
Yes BHD, I would!
