Revisit By The Monsters?

Friday morning, my spouse began to shout, “stop it! Stop it!”

I was in the bathroom, and came running to find out what was going on.

I found my spouse in distress. It seems like some of the worst symptoms of his long-term illness that he suffered from all last year came back! He was upset because severe vertigo had returned. The room was spinning, he was becoming nauseous, and he wanted it to stop.

Man, this was a shock. Totally out-of-the-blue, his worst symptom reoccurred enough to scare the daylights out of both of us.

Then he couldn’t move. Literally, he couldn’t walk. It was like he could not communicate with his muscles, and he was so fatigued, he didn’t have the energy to try.

I called his physician and was pleased to reach him on my first call.

The doc actually paid a house call (unheard of these days).

For respect of my spouse’s privacy, I will not go further — other than to say that he was able to walk again by Sunday, albeit wobbly. He has not had any more dizzy spells, and has regained his appetite. These are all good signs.

But as I have said before, my spouse is “better” but is not completely well and he may never be. This worries both of us very much.

So I’m back to doing all the driving for the both of us… blecch… but if it is what must be done to keep my spouse safe, so be it.

More tests coming up soon. Oh great…

Life is short: care for the one you love.

  1. BHD, I will keep my fingers crossed for you and send you both my best thoughts and wishes for as full a recovery as possible. Here’s hoping the test results will confirm this is a temporary and NOT permanent flair up of the former symptoms.
