Today is my spouse’s birthday. Since I have to work today, we celebrated yesterday instead, since it was a U.S. Federal Holiday and I had the day off.
It was nice to give him a “birthday for husband” card this year 🙂
My spouse did not want presents, but I was able to arrange quite a surprise, available only in DC….
One of my senior pals is a friend of the ambassador to the United States from the country of each of our father’s heritage. We were granted a tour of the embassy and had a chance to meet the ambassador.
I regret that they do not allow photos to be taken inside the embassy itself, but the photo below is of the two of us in front of the building. And notice — we are both wearing Italian leather. Our guide noticed what we were wearing and said that we were “quite fashionable.” So see–you CAN wear leather in public and even to important places, and get compliments.
My spouse and I were thrilled with the chance to visit this embassy. We had a great time — doing something that can only be done in Washington, DC.
Continuing on with the birthday…yesterday (and today) was/is all about my spouse. I made him home-made waffles for breakfast, a special gluten-free pizza for lunch (that takes 90 minutes to make from scratch!) and a roast beef with all the trimmings for dinner.
We snuggled, laughed, and had fun being together all day. His day. Whatever I could do to make him happy, I did. That makes me happy, too.
Life is short: show those you love how you love them.
With your last few entries it only shows that Good Fortune continues to rain (reign) on you and the man you so lovingly refer to as “Spouse.” Good deeds are generally rewarded in a positive way so let it continue! Congratulations on the job news and Happy Birthday to your husband.
