I have written several posts on this blog about traveling with and while wearing leather. I will follow my own advice when I take off for…
… a U.S. city on the West Coast where my retirement party will be held on Wednesday night.
The weather is typical for that city this time of year. 100% rain, rain, and rain. It will be cold, but not below freezing.
So what’s a guy to do in that environment?
Well, of course — wear leather jeans, jacket, shirt, and lug-soled boots. (Though note, I’ll leave the Muir Cap at home.)
I will wear those garments and the boots at the airport. That will save weight for my carry-on. I will only be there for 3 days — arrival day, party day/night, and departure for home the next day.
Since I will not have to dress in my customary professional meeting organizer/facilitator style, I’ll go as I am comfortable, in my leathers.
The party will be in the hotel where I am staying, so I probably will wear jeans and a regular shirt for that event.
But I will have lots of “free time” during the day on Wednesday, so I intend to go out and visit a highly regarded leather garment manufacturer that is based there.
So now have you figured out what city I am visiting?
Life is short: wear leather confidently. (I’ve “earned it” in my retirement!)
Posed as an answer on Jeopardy:
What is Seattle, Washington?
no, sorry Alex: read the location in the photo of the inside label of a Langlitz. Close, but a little further south.
Hello There,
…found your website/blog from my interest in Wesco and White’s boots; leathers; and Harleys. I have plans to purchase my first bike/Harley very soon. Just wanted to say….great stuff; enjoyed reading everything.
