Being interested in boots (okay, I know that is an understatement), I see a lot of advertising and marketing for boots. So today for National Boots Day (whoda thunk?), I am asking a genuine question for boot enthusiasts: “who in the heck…”
…would pay almost $6,000 for a single pair of boots? Seriously?
Okay, so they are alligator. But man oh man, are these boots pricey. So back to my original question — who would pay that much for a pair of boots (that look like almost any other exotic boots on the market) made by a commercial vendor?
These boots are not custom-made, nor bespoke, nor personally fitted. Not gilded with gold or threaded with platinum. I just … don’t … get … it.
Life is short: even if you have money to burn, there are many other ways to spend it wisely.
No way would I pay that much for a pair of boots!
Last month, for my birthday, I purchased two new pairs of Chippewa steel toe engineer boots (one cordovan and the other tan) from a vendor on EBay. The price, $99 each on close out. They even shipped them to me in California.
How’s that for a deal!
Check out the Lucchese Baron. They are nearly $13,000 a pair!
No thanks. My first two cars cost less than that!
