Recently, I switched the channel on the radio in my truck from the usual all-news station to a music station, and heard the song “All Of Me” by John Legend. (Hear it here<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

I really liked the lyrics, and was thinking warmly of my spouse as I was listening. <\/p>\n

When I arrived at home, I was singing parts of it — “Cause all of me loves all of you” la la la…<\/p>\n

My spouse heard me and said,

\n“you know that’s a straight song, don’t you?”<\/p>\n

Well, yeah, I figured that out. But I thought the words were meaningful enough to reinforce how I feel about him, not thinking about the “straightness” of the tune being written by a man for his wife.<\/p>\n

Then I looked at the YouTube video for the original song, and see how romantic and sweet it is, demonstrating the love by a man for a woman. <\/p>\n

That’s nice, but perhaps not really what I am thinking when I think about my loving spouse.<\/p>\n

So I looked for a version that would be more suitable for two guys, and saw one, however this video has been taken down by YouTube (Jan. 2017). But to tell you the truth, I did not like that one, either. Too gay.<\/p>\n

Oh well, I’ll just hum the tune and think the words about my spouse, <\/p>\n
