I began the morning with a warm snuggle and attention to my man. We lingered in bed to watch the sun rise on the trees behind our house. The leaves on the maples closest to our window are bright gold. Beautiful!<\/p>\nToday is my spouse’s birthday. I used a holiday yesterday to do special things for him, and also ride escort in a parade. The weather yesterday around where I live reached 70F (21C)! Wow!<\/p>\n
Since 11 November has always been a holiday, my spouse has preferred to celebrate his birthday on that date, instead of the real date, which is today.<\/p>\n
What did we do?

\nI began the morning with a warm snuggle and attention to my man. We lingered in bed to watch the sun rise on the trees behind our house. The leaves on the maples closest to our window are bright gold. Beautiful!<\/p>\n
I made him home-made waffles made from four gluten-free flours. He wanted to continue his studies, so I donned boots, breeches, and a my Rev’IT jacket<\/a> and joined some motorcop buddies and a few members of my club to escort a veterans parade in the community. It was great to see vets from WWII, Korea, Vietnam, and more current deployments receive well-deserved praise and thanks.<\/p>\n I returned home in the early afternoon and found that the spouse had not had lunch yet. I made him home-made potato gnocci and re-heated some of my home-made potato pizza. He loved it.<\/p>\n During the afternoon, my spouse wanted to shower. I escorted him to our two-man, two-headed shower in the basement and personally bathed him. He loves the attention (and so do I!)<\/p>\n After the shower, my spouse put on his leather jeans, and I put on mine, and we went outside to take our annual Fall photo. (Below). It was great for my spouse to get out of the house. He has been confined indoors since mid-September<\/a> to avoid exposure to molds and fungus that could trigger a debilitating attack of his chronic illnesses.<\/p>\n After taking a few photos, we returned inside. I then got busy in the kitchen. I squeezed four lemons and added the juice to sweetened condensed milk to make the filling for fresh lemon meringue pie. (Of course, I whipped egg whites with sugar to make the meringue… no store-bought stuff\/no way!) I baked the pie for 20 minutes, then put it in the fridge to chill.<\/p>\n While the pie was chilling, I got busy preparing dinner. I grilled two great, tender steaks, baked potatoes, and made a small side salad. We lingered over dinner, smiled, laughed, and enjoyed fresh pie for dessert. It was a nice, quiet dinner — just the way my spouse likes it.<\/p>\n So that’s it — no noise, no people, no eating out. Just warm “home-made sunshine” throughout the day.
