Sunday, I had the pleasure of using my touring class Harley to take a long ride. Saturday was busy from dawn to dusk, about 14 hours of work-work-work. But even before dawn, the day began by rising at 0430 and meeting my senior early-morning walking pal for a six-miler. Back home by dawn, showered, changed to work clothes and my second pair of what would be six pairs of boots that day and…

\n… installed four rain barrels (cisterns) around my house. This will offset a tax on rain. Yep, you read it correctly… they tax rain in the county and state where I live. Glad they haven’t found a way to tax breathing yet, but I’m sure they will figure it out sometime.<\/p>\n
I digress, … let’s just suffice to say that I got a lot done on Saturday around my house as well as at five senior pals’ homes with minor repairs.<\/p>\n
My spouse is stable, and the weather was absolutely outstanding! Sunny, mild (mid -70s [24C]), and very low humidity. <\/p>\n
I had arranged to visit a very close friend who I worked with for many years back in the day… we built an internationally-recognized program that had huge impact in our country across many agencies and organizations. We have been friends since 1987. He retired a couple years ago and settled in southern Pennsylvania. I had an award that he earned to present to him. I accepted the award on his behalf when he could not attend the conference last year at which the award was presented.<\/p>\n
So Sunday, after making sure that things at home were okay, I mounted my Harley, set the course in the GPS, rumbled the engine to life and took off. Sixth and cruise… how my touring class motorcycle was meant to be. Smooth and swift ride to my friend’s house.<\/p>\n
BTW, I wore jeans, safety shirt, and my Chippewa harness boots<\/a>. Those boots had gotten kinda dirty, so I shined them up and they look great!<\/p>\n I had a wonderful visit with my ol’ pal and his family. Before I knew it, it was time to leave. I cruised back through twisties on hills on such a delightful day.
