Sunday, May 12, I rode with about 15 of my friends, some of whom are retired or active law enforcement officers, to the annual “Law Ride” which kicks off Police Week in Washington, DC. We rode to the staging area then rode in procession past the U.S. Capitol to the National Law Enforcement Officer’s Memorial in downtown DC.

I regret that attendance by active duty officers is dwindling more and more… other events requiring local cops to work were going on in and near the city of Washington, DC. Unfortunately, their work took them away from joining us — about 500 supporters and about 40 cops, mostly from Florida and Ohio.
\n\"LR2013H\"It was great, however, to see and catch up with my friend Clockner who I saw at the Memorial. He’s a great guy. Sorry to have missed Auxmccop who I spoke with by phone, but did not see–he was unable to get to the Memorial when I was there. My group left early so we could get back home to spend time with those we love.<\/p>\n
