Man, the weather in the area where I live has been superb. In fact, downright record-breaking warm! So each time I write a post about a recent ride this late in the season, I have been posting as if that ride were the last this year. Well, not yet!

\nMonday, I had a ton of errands to run between and after work. How did I get where I was going? By Harley, of course!<\/p>\n

Yesterday, Tuesday, I was scheduling myself to take a break — and a long ride — about 3pm, but unfortunately, my computer’s power supply died in the morning. So astride the Harley I went … to the computer parts store for a new power supply, and then to another store to get some specialized grout for a tile project I am doing. Pictured here is what this biker carries in his TourPak as he completes his rounds.<\/p>\n

When I was walking to the back of the computer store, I noticed (or shall I say, “heard”) my Wesco boots making a rather loud clunking sound. Apparently the floor of the store is on a floating slab, so the sound of my boots reverberated. A guy looked me up and down, then said, “man, those are substantial boots<\/i>! I smiled, and said, “yep.” He continued by asking me what kind of boots they were, how they felt (I wonder exactly what he meant), and where he could get a pair for himself. <\/p>\n
I told him about Wesco boots. To that, he replied, “well, I guess I’ll have to get a motorcycle first.” I didn’t want to argue nor take much more time as I was on a mission. I just said, “anyone can wear motorcycle boots, whether or not he rides a bike.”<\/p>\n
It was nice to get out for a ride and run errands at the same time to make the time productive. However, when I can ride in warm weather in December, any moment on my Harley is “productive” as it soothes my soul and relieves frustration.<\/p>\n
Special message for a good friend\/biker buddy: S, sorry… I know this is like rubbing salt into your wounds since living in the Great White North means putting your Harley into storage in October. But remember, you rode all summer when I was mostly housebound caring for my beloved partner during the worst of his illness.<\/p>\n
