With it being so darn cold, full leather (shirt, jeans, boots, and even a leather tie for closing the gap at my neck) and my favorite Schott or Langlitz jackets are keeping me warm. Also helps to allow me to turn the heat in my house down a bit to save on home heating costs.<\/p>\n
While I was in Puerto Rico, I totally “reset myself” and feel much more positive moving forward in my new life. Mind you, I still miss my husband; the grief is less acute, but still there.<\/p>\n
For my “2022 reset,” I made plans related to my boots and leather gear. Interested?

I have made a promise to myself to downsize my boot collection and my old, still in good condition, but no longer-fitting leather gear. <\/p>\n
I am trying to apply sales resistance to acquiring new boots and leathers. Heck, I’ve got more than ample for any man. It is time to stop buying, start saving, and sell off some (most?) of my boots and leathers.<\/p>\n

Mind you, I still wear leather and boots, especially in the cold. I am just reducing my inventory of older, non-fitting, boots and leather gear, including old-time leather fetish gear. I am not involved with the leather fetish community, especially with Covid putting the kibosh on socializing. Not that I am a social animal by any means, being the morning person I am. (I never could stay awake past 9pm.)<\/p>\n
I am building (or shall I say “rebuilding”) my own parallel website to showcase items that I plan to sell directly. I am reticent to use eBay or other on-line marketplaces.<\/p>\n
When the new site is working, I will announce it here. There are a lot of details to make it fully functional. I am pleased that I found a way to integrate accepting payments and calculating shipping, which is not easy, but thankfully, completed and working. <\/p>\n
As of now, I am restricting sales of boots and gear to the United States and Canada. Unfortunately, I have been ripped off by some guys in the U.K. by being too trusting. For now, I’ll see how it works by restricting to the countries of my residency (yes, I have Canadian residency status too.)<\/p>\n

In between volunteer shifts as a paramedic and other activities (Gotomeeting or Zoom or Teams anyone?) related to my profession in which I remain involved, I tinker on the new website. Search engines are my friend … to find methods of making it work and add appropriate plugins to enhance the user experience. So much to learn, so much to do. I am enjoying this hobby and look forward to a goal by year end to downsize my collections by half of what I own now.<\/p>\n
Why am I selling and not just giving it away? I have made a huge investment in boots and leathers, and I want to get back some of that investment. Especially now that I am on a fixed income (pension) yet costs of living continue to rise. I am planning on these sales to supplement my “living income.” <\/p>\n

Be assured, I am not looking to make a mint or rip people off. The value of some items naturally decreases with time, age, and condition of the items. I get it. But it’s time… yes it’s time… move some boots and leathers onto other guys’ feet and bodies. It is indeed time to reduce my holdings.<\/p>\n
I am happy in my Maryland home and have no plans (yet) to move. But that time will come sooner than later, so downsizing now is better than waiting until I do not have the energy or stamina. I may be traveling to Canada this coming year to maintain my residency status. I must step boot into the country some time this year, so I will do this; precisely where, I don’t know yet.<\/p>\n
I continue to hear my husband’s immortal words, “what are you going to do with all that stuff?”<\/p>\n
Well, now I have a plan. Watch this space.<\/p>\n
