Yes, I know that I haven’t posted anything in a long time. I really don’t want this blog to stop. However, two things are affecting my posting frequency on this “bootedmanblog” blog. Read on if interested…

\nFirst … the usual conundrum of thinking of anything new to say. There is a rich history on this blog about (almost) “boot and leather everything.” I don’t like to repeat myself, but I realize I know what’s here and most casual readers do not. So I will try to be better at re-sharing or updating previously posted but “evergreen” information.<\/p>\n
Next… the worldwide pandemic continues to find me staying home and keeping mostly to myself and my husband. We aren’t social people anyway and we did not go to restaurants or bars before the pandemic, so the adjustment to staying home has been rather easy. I boot up and venture out to forage for groceries and supplies, and also to attend to necessary medical visits.<\/p>\n
Which leads to the real #1 reason for not posting much. I mentioned before<\/a> that my husband is seriously ill. Unfortunately, his situation is not something that you take some pills for a few weeks and then you’re all better. His situation requires my utmost, steadfast attention every hour of every day.<\/p>\n That’s what I do — live our marriage vows<\/a> — <\/p>\n to stand with you in celebration and sadness, for richer, for poorer, in sickness<\/strong> and in health. <\/p><\/blockquote>\n If any time tests what these vows really mean about standing with him in sickness, this is it. I am sad, but honest when I say, “until death do we part.”<\/p>\n We’re not there yet, but are fighting every day to have the time we have together be as meaningful, loving, and supportive as possible.
