\"\"I know I have been lax in posting on this blog; however, Spouse and I are on vacation in Puerto Rico for a reason — to relax, renew, and enjoy each other.<\/p>\n

I have enjoyed our visit. We will be here for a few more days. Here’s a little bit about what we have been up to…
\n
\nVisiting with friends<\/em><\/p>\n

I have been to Puerto Rico 31 times. I worked with and trained a lot of people, and have made great life-long friends along the way.<\/p>\n

We had a wonderful dinner with one of the island’s most prominent scientists, her husband, and some other friends on Thursday at my friend’s house. Had a delightful time. Even Spouse enjoyed it (for a while, until he tired out and we had to go back to our home-away-from-home.)<\/p>\n

Exploration<\/em><\/p>\n

We did some exploration, looking for a highly-rated secluded beach located on the farthest southwestern end of the island. We got close, but the road to the beach was closed and it was at least a two-mile walk from where we could leave the car. Spouse can’t walk on rough terrain that far. We took a few photos, then headed back. \"\" Sunset Viewing<\/em><\/p>\n

Western Puerto Rico is known for lovely sunsets. So far, we only had one. Other days, the sunset was occluded by clouds and rain. <\/p>\n

But if we could only have one brilliant sunset, it was on the best day for it — Valentine’s Day. We went to a highly-recommended local restaurant that had seating on a deck right on the ocean with a great view. Behold: \"\"Spouse and I enjoyed a nice dinner and had a romantic evening.<\/p>\n

More Exploration<\/em><\/p>\n

\"\"We also explored more of the island and went to places to which I had not been before. Some of the drive up and down tight curves on steep grades was both terrifying and spectacular at the top. <\/p>\n

Water Sports<\/em><\/p>\n

We stopped to watch surfers at a beach known for great surfing. It was interesting to watch the skill of some of the surfers. (Not me — if I tried it, I would drown.)<\/p>\n

A friend of mine tried to teach me how to use a paddleboard, but I never could get on the thing. After an hour of trying, I was too tired to try any more and thanked my friend for his patience.<\/p>\n

My friend felt so bad that he could not teach me how to paddleboard that he took me parasailing. Now that I could do. Here I am — had a great time! (Spouse took this photo safely from the beach-facing balcony of the place we are staying — he is not able to do this.) \"\" Reconnecting<\/em> <\/p>\n

Most mornings, Spouse and I took a stroll on the beach. Main reason we are here is to reconnect on our Life Journey. \"\" And yes, those looking closely will notice no boots on my feet — instead, reef shoes made for walking in sand and on rocky beaches.<\/p>\n

Well, more exploration to do en la isla del encanto.<\/em><\/p>\n
