[me] What do you mean?<\/p>\n
[spouse] I am just done. Done done done.<\/p>\n
[me, in my mind] just what are you ‘done’ with? Don’t think it’s me, or our house, so what are you ‘done’ with?<\/em> But now Spouse’s “new normal” is to accept that how he is feeling now is how he will be feeling for the rest of his life. Not great, but tolerable.<\/p>\n About the same time that Spouse was arriving at this self-awareness, I reacted to a news report that the Idiot-in-Chief wants to waste millions of dollars having a military parade on the Fourth of July in downtown Washington, DC. To me, I was “done” with the waste, bloviating, and constant lying.<\/p>\n So Spouse and I turned to each other and hatched an idea — let’s go on our first vacation. Yeah, real vacation-vacation away from this place for a while.<\/p>\n I know, let’s celebrate with our friendly neighbours to the north. Spouse loves, just loves, trams — so let’s catch a non-stop flight to Toronto in time to enjoy Canada Day (1 July), see sights we want to see, ride the trams, and celebrate Canada’s 152nd year of its federation as a country.<\/p>\n This past weekend, we put those plans into place. \nRelax, readers. Spouse isn’t done with me (yet), or our marriage, or our life. He is ‘done’ with feeling lousy and chasing ghosts. He is done with making appointment after appointment with specialists, going through batteries of repetitive tests, all to reach the same conclusions, “yes, you are feeling lousy, but there is no medical reason that we can find, so we have nothing we can treat.”<\/p>\n![\"\"](\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.bootedmanblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/TorontoCanadaDay-300x200.jpg?resize=300%2C200\")
