\n…”meet up” with other men who share similar interests in boots, leather, and motorcycling. (BTW, why the term “meet up?” Why isn’t it “meet down” or “meet sideways?” Or better yet, just “meet?” Oh, the old-fartisms that cross the mind of a guy who was taught proper English.)<\/p>\n

I have found over the years that meeting other men generally does not work, at least for me. <\/p>\n

First of all, when I travel for work, I schedule myself intensely for what I am traveling to do. My work comes first. And with what I do, my day often begins at 0400 local time where I rise, exercise, shower, do some work in my hotel room, have a long day with working lunches, and ends in the evening with dinner with colleagues where we discuss work-related issues as well.<\/p>\n

Unlike business-yuppies, when the meeting day ends, I do not sit at the hotel bar for “a few drinks” then go to dinner at 2000 (8pm) and get back to the hotel late. <\/p>\n

Rather, I prefer that when the meeting ends at 1700 (5pm), to drop my stuff in my room, call the Spouse, then meet (up, sideways, down, or over) at 1730 (5:30pm) for an early dinner with colleagues (who are also friends). Then get back to my room by 1930 (7:30pm), do some work email, then hit the sack at 2000 (8pm.) <\/p>\n

On those rare times when I have some unplanned time, such as meeting ending at noon and travel home the next morning, I will first reach out to family to arrange to visit. I have a very large family scattered all over the USA (and the world), so it is not unusual that I have a sibling, niece, nephew, a “great”, or a cousin somewhere nearby. <\/p>\n

So with work-focused then family-focused free time, I have little, if any, free time to meet other men who are interested in boots or leather. Sorry, guys, I’m not the social animal and at my age, would prefer to eat early and return to the hotel for an early bedtime.<\/p>\n

I like to meet other people; however, I also have my limits on time and also on honoring my marriage. While my Spouse trusts me implicitly, I would rather not have any question about why I am meeting other men, especially if they are gay and single. It isn’t quite right. The other guy may be honorable and have completely innocent intent. I just do not want to introduce any question as to why I am meeting some other guy.<\/p>\n

Oh well… I am who I am. So while I appreciate your interest, I’m not going to respond to “LMK” if I may be traveling again. Actually, I really do not travel that much for work, and don’t travel personally since my Spouse can’t travel — except for perhaps a reprise of a crazy-awesome motorcycle adventure<\/a> with my motorcycle buddy S.<\/p>\n
