\"\"I had a real heavy leather weekend since Friday afternoon, through Sunday evening. Spouse was aghast when he received a 20-pound box from the man in brown on Friday, and watched me tear it open as soon as I got home from work.<\/p>\n

Coincidence that my own personal “heavy leather weekend” coincided with Mid-Atlantic Leather Weekend in DC? <\/p>\n

So pray tell, spill the beans… precisely what composed this “heavy leather weekend?”

\nMy “Leatherticipation<\/a>” and long-time, long saved-up-for dreams were fulfilled: a full Langlitz leather outfit, composed of the ultimate and best of their motorcycle jackets, a padded pocket Columbia<\/a> and a custom-fitted pair of competition breeches<\/a> to match.<\/p>\n

\"\"I ran to the bedroom and quickly removed my dress work duds and boots and pulled on those breeches. Man! They fit perfectly!<\/p>\n

I slowly rubbed my hands over them and felt just how great the fit was. Woof! (My hunky husband who has always been my “leather dresser” agreed!)<\/p>\n

The leather on these breeches is very thick. I mean VERY thick. It was a struggle to get my legs to bend because the leather was so stiff. <\/p>\n

\"\"I reached down and closed the zipper at the bottom of each leg to make the breeches conform to my ankles. For added easy of the next step — pulling on boots — I pulled the end of my socks over the ends of the breeches. (That way, the ends of the breeches don’t “catch” on the boot tops.)<\/p>\n

Then I asked the spouse to help me put on a pair of boots. It is hard to explain, but there is no way that a guy can bend his leg while wearing such thick, heavy, stiff leather enough such that he can point his toes inside a boot. No way. <\/p>\n

Spouse helped, and the Dehners slowly came on. I stood up and walked a few steps. <\/p>\n

Man, my legs hurt. Soon they were throbbing. The boots had to come off. Spouse helped again.<\/p>\n

I discovered to my dismay that the leather of these breeches is SO thick that there is insufficient room for my leg + thick leather to fit inside these boots, even with the Dehners having a 1-inch wider calf circumference.<\/p>\n

Well, I thought that this situation would work out some way, some how. Perhaps with a different pair of boots? More exercise to lose some girth in the legs? I will see….<\/p>\n

It was now more than an hour later, and Spouse was getting hungry. I always prepare him a nice meal before I go to my usual every-Friday-night family dinner. (Spouse does not go with me to this family dinner because he detests noise and crowds. My family is both.)<\/p>\n

So there I was padding around in socks in my kitchen while wearing those breeches and a Langlitz t-shirt (that they were nice enough to include in the shipment). While Spouse was eating, I decided, for now, to wear my Chippewa firefighter boots<\/a> which fit well with the breeches (bottoms zipped open, over the boots.)<\/p>\n

That’s what I wore to the family dinner — and other than a few remarks about how great the leather breeches looked and smelled, no one else of the some 30 people there said a word about the leather. They know me and know my inclination toward leather.<\/p>\n

What about the jacket? I decided to wait until Saturday morning to wear it. I tried it on Friday night, and it fit great. But I thought that I would wait for the “full effect” of wearing the entire outfit on Saturday. Tune in to the next blog post about that…<\/p>\n
