So here we are with another “100” milestone for this blog — this is post 2,400.
Since January, 2008, I have expressed thoughts, opinions, and shared information about boots, leather, boots, my feelings as a masculine gay man, boots, the joy of being married to the most wonderful man on the planet, boots, my life story, boots, and concerns about caregiving for those I love — especially during my spouse’s three-year horror of illness and caregiving for my aunt.
What posts of the last 100 (since October 14, 2015) have been most viewed and popular?
According to my little statistical software snippet, these most recent popular posts of the last 100 are:
3 Motorcycle Boots I Don’t Wear (Much)
Trends in Cowboy Boot Toes, Heels, and Heights
My 3 Most Favorite Boots for Motorcycling
Boots That Only Go With Denim Jeans
Interesting that these top posts in the last 100 are rather recent. And none of these fall into the top overall posts — searches for information about Frye Boots, curiosity about cowboy boots, and visual appeal of cops and boots remain the most frequently visited posts on this blog and my website.
With further review, it is interesting what blog posts are least found through searches, such as about my same-sex marriage, my spouse’s health situation, or my boring little home life, in general. It is likely, however, that posts about those issues do not come up higher in ranks through internet searches because I am careful about what I say and choose words that are generalized rather than specific.
Well, I can ramble more and more, but I’ve got things to do, people to look after, a house to renovate, LOLITS to chase, and boots to wear. Suffice it to say that while I continue to struggle with finding time to write for this blog, and I have difficulty thinking about new content to add, I intend to keep the blog going as long as I can. I may take more breaks from time to time, but those breaks are mostly due to the collision between available time and writer’s block.
Thank you, loyal readers, for your interest in my musings. I appreciate your dedicated following.
Life is short: wear boots, smile, love life and most importantly: show those you love how you love them.
Howdy – been a while since I communicated with you but I want you to know that I have been enjoying your blogs. My husband and I pretty much seem to be similar to you both – I am the one who gets the back rub at night and he is the night owl who sleeps in and has all those dietary restrictions.
I wanted to draw your attention to a new source for leather jeans – the Eastern Oregon Leather Company they are on YouTube and the owner Pounder does blogs each week. What I am interested in is a tan pair of leather jeans with laced sides and the black leather on the inside of those pants – he has a video – his wife hates those but I think he puts out a quality product, not cheap but those zippers on the side of the jeans to accommodate the boots makes sense to me – what do you think? Best regards and ride safe and do not work harder than you currently are.
Good to hear from you and thanks for your comment.
I think Shane (Pounder) of Eastern Oregon Leather makes great products, and recommend them to anyone looking for high quality leather gear.
Shane got his start in writing blogs right here on this one. He wrote a 3-part series about his evolution and growth into his passion for leathercrafting. See the first post here, and follow the links to the others.
