4 to 24, Where Has The Time Gone?

Today, April 4, marks my fourth year of marriage to the man who has made me complete and has made me “me” for almost 24 years now. I so cherish…

…being married. Yeah, this single word means more to me than anything else in describing my relationship with my beloved husband, aka spouse.

During the past 24 years, we have grown in our relationship. We have learned what each of us is passionate about, and we do whatever we can to encourage and support the passion in the other.

We have had our share of arguments and disagreements. We have worked through them by persistence and knowing that deep-down, the bond of love holds us strongly together.

We have built a home together and a life where each of us is our own man. We are strong in faith — faith that we can, and will, overcome obstacles through persistence and action.

We have endured major setbacks and complications with what life has brought to each of us. For me — job changes and a rocky road to stability again in my career. For Spouse — major health issues with a severe long-term infection from which, thankfully, he has recovered but is still dealing with painful long-term damage to his body to the degree that he no longer can drive, or be seated comfortably for longer than an hour.

Resilience has helped us overcome the worst of the worst, and we see a future where we will grow old(er) together, always bonded through love, forevermore.

Ya know, when you think about it — that’s really “it.” Honor, commitment, passion, endurance, patience, persistence, faith, kindness — all of these words describe our feelings for one another. But nothing replaces one simple word: love.

Life is short: show those for whom you are passionate how much you love them each and every day.

  1. Happy Anniversary! You continue to inspire us all to know that there is no uncomplicated road to building a loving and rewarding life with another. And, the reward is well-worth the effort.

  2. Congratulations on your fourth anniversary! May you both have every happiness now and in the years to come.
